·         Supporting Children’s education.

In Kiiryandongo District, many villages lack even a single person with ordinary level Certificate, largely due to extreme poverty. More than 90% of children enrolled in Primary one (P1) don’t complete Primary seven (P7).  This is because of lack of tuition fees, school materials and uniform. As they drop out of school their aspirations and future is ruined turning them into public nuisance.

Yet, we believe every child is created with a divine purpose and a future full of hope, as declared in Jeremiah 29:11. These children are bright and full of aspirations in an early age – but sadly their dreams fade due to their families’ inability to support them.

As a Church, we have initiated a support program targeting 100 children: 60 in primary schools and 40 in secondary schools covering their tuition fees. The average estimate per child per term in primary school is 100,000 UGX (approx. $25 USD) while for secondary student is 600,000 UGX (Approx. $150 USD). We aim to start with these numbers and expand when resources allow.

·         Youth Spiritual Transformation.

In 2021 during Covid – 19 pandemic, Kiryandongo District experienced a great rise in youth related crime especially street gangs commonly referred to as Aguu. These were young people both in and out of school, engaging in robbery, house breakings and even violence. Despite efforts by security agencies, the situation persisted.

Covid – 19 only escalated the already high criminal practices in Kiryandonngo District due to societal- moral – degeneration even among adults. There is high level of unreported corruption, land grabbing and abuses of office.

In response, our church launched a Youth Awareness Campaign in 2023. We reached in-school youth through school programs and out-of-school youth through peer-to-peer mobilization. Our message was simple; “set your goal and work for it. Avoid shortcuts.”

This effort gained support of Y-Global and Windle International. Y-Global provides peace building trainings while Windle International focuses only on behavioral change and child protection only in the refugee settlements.

You too can be part of this transformation. Support our Youth Spiritual Transformation Program. We believe to have morally upright generation there is high need to vigorously transform these young ones. There is a lot to be done to reach many schools and many places.

·         Supporting the Elderly.

Majority of our village elders are abandoned and lack proper care. They lack people to comfort them and talk to. Occasional we identify and support them with repair of their houses and cloth. We plan to build a community center where these older people can come for massaging, meet and share their memories and get refreshed.

Some of the elders have been sick for a long time because of lack of medication and some die from treatable diseases or lack of food leave alone balance diet.

You can help an elder with $1 USD or 4,000/= per day, or an old cloth or by building for them a community center.
